UPDATE 10 October 2011: All pre-orders of “Besieged: The Epic Battle for Cholm” have been shipped. Customers in Australia should have already received their books. Those in Asia, the UK and North America should start seeing them arrive in a couple of days. Customers in mainland Europe will need to wait a little longer: delivery to you guys is expected to begin early next week. Thanks to everyone for their patience. We hope the book meets or exceeds your expectations.
The pre-publication offer for this book is now over. Regular price is AUD $80. While packing books, we occasionally come across imperfect copies (misprinted pages, dinged corners, etc.). If you’ve got a tight budget, we can offer these for a substantial discount: at the moment, we have two such copies. One has a section of 16 misaligned pages (yours for $20 + postage), the other has about 30 pages lightly tacked together at the top with glue (very easy to separate but a slight blemish is left on the top of each page (yours for $30 + postage). If interested, please write to use for details.

As some of you may have noticed, Leaping Horseman Books has been very quiet since our previous update last December (the months certainly do fly!). Of course, there is a very good reason for this silence: we have been hard at work producing our newest title. We are proud to announce the release of the latest addition to the Leaping Horseman stable: Besieged: The Epic Battle for Cholm. For over 100 days, Generalmajor Scherer and a few thousand men held out against elements of two Soviet divisions. This small but fascinating engagement has been crying out for an in-depth book in any language… well, after utilising all available resources, such a book is available in English. In an effort to combat rising costs in printing, so as to offer good value to our customers in the current jittery global climate, we here at Leaping Horseman Books have worked tirelessly to produce a high-quality book but at a lower price. By sourcing a new printer, we are able to offer this new title for the regular price of AUD $80.00, which is 20% less than comparable books released in previous years. What’s more, a pre-publication discount of 10% is in effect until we take delivery of the books (expected in early September). That means you only pay AUD $72.00. Furthermore, we have worked hard to offer cheaper postage options. Australia Post, Australia’s national carrier, continues to raise postage prices, but by making arrangements with an overseas distributor, we will be able to offer Air Mail postage at considerably reduced prices to our European customers. The best news of all is for those in North America: this book will be despatched from within the United States, meaning that you will pay only AUD $12.00 in postage. When combined with the pre-pub offer, this book could be yours for just AUD $84.00.
Several exciting projects are in the works. As reported in previous updates, a detailed history of Pionier-Bataillon 305 is on its way. Also in preparation is a fantastic title about certain panzer units, but more about that in good time! Finally, a multi-volume set about a significant Eastern Front campaign is in the initial stages.
Many thanks to all those who continue to support us by buying direct. Your business is greatly appreciated.
